As fast as he is… unique. Over the years, Lewis Hamilton has proven to be much more than just a Formula 1 driver.
He is a true star in every sense, known not only for his seven world titles but also for his eccentric outfits, unexpected statements, and a personality that often surprises—but ultimately represents Sir Lewis to the fullest.
Hamilton declares: “New Ferrari? No, I sold them all!”
During the press conference at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix in Baku, Hamilton shocked everyone by revealing that he sold his entire collection of supercars. When asked by journalists about whether he had purchased Ferrari’s new hypercar, the F80, the Scuderia driver gave a direct and unexpected answer:
“I don’t own cars anymore. I don’t have any because I got rid of all my cars. These days, I’m much more into art. I really enjoy buying works from young, emerging Black artists and African art. There’s so much to learn in that world, and that’s why I spend most of my time searching online.”
Hamilton went on to explain that he has decided to dedicate more of his time and resources to his passion for art, especially emerging and African works, finding in it a new way to express his creativity and curiosity.
It marks another major step for the Briton, who in recent years has gradually shifted his focus away from cars and racing towards cultural and social interests. A personal evolution that has taken him from speed on track… to the pursuit of artistic and cultural value, particularly from the African continent.
