Helmut Marko on Red Bull 2026: “Sacrificing 2026? We won’t have any difficulties

The team’s fourth place in the Constructors’ standings — still within reach of Ferrari and Mercedes — is largely thanks to the extraordinary work of the Dutch superstar, once again proving himself to be the “only” true force behind the Austrian outfit, especially when compared to the results of Lawson earlier in the year and Tsunoda afterward.

With Max once again in the fight for the title against the two “Papaya” drivers, Norris and Piastri, many have speculated that Red Bull might be focusing all their efforts on this season’s finale, potentially neglecting the groundwork for 2026.

Helmut Marko on Red Bull 2026: “I believe we have a very clear plan and highly skilled people”

Addressing those rumors, Helmut Marko came to the defense of the team in his usual straightforward manner: ” It’s always the same story. Whenever the regulations change, we all work to the maximum to remain competitive — just as we’ve done through the last three regulatory overhauls.” .

When it comes to changes, it’s not only about the technical ones — the team itself has evolved considerably compared to 2024: from the second driver (who is expected to change again in 2026, with Hadjar currently leading the race) to the new team principal Laurent Mekies, not to mention the numerous engineering reshuffles and the shock departure of Adrian Newey

Marko continued: “I believe we have a very clear plan and highly skilled people, so I don’t think we’ll face any difficulties in 2026.” A strong and confident message from Helmut, who — as we know — has never been one to mince words or create false illusions.
