Hamilton reacts after the Brazilian GP: resilience and unity following a tough weekend… and Elkann’s harsh words

In the chaotic aftermath of the disappointing 2025 Brazilian Grand Prix — where Lewis Hamilton’s race ended in chaos after early-lap contacts with Sainz and Colapinto — the Briton shared a message on his social media that immediately caught fans’ attention, especially given the media storm that erupted in the hours that followed.

Hamilton responds: “I back my team. I back myself. I will not give up.”
Hamilton responds: “I back my team. I back myself. I will not give up.”

This is the message: “Brazil. Thank you for all the love, always. In the end, it wasn’t the race we wanted. It’s gutting, especially after some good progress, but we will move on. I back my team. I back myself. I will not give up . . Not now, not then, not ever.”

The post sounds like yet another indirect reply — following Charles Leclerc’s earlier message — to Ferrari president John Elkann’s sharp remarks about the team’s drivers after the Brazil weekend. Elkann had stated:

Hamilton responds: “I back my team. I back myself. I will not give up.”

“Brazil was a major disappointment. Looking at the Formula 1 championship, we can say that our mechanics are performing at a title-winning level, with their work and pit stops. Our engineers have clearly improved the car. But the rest is not up to standard.

And of course, our drivers need to focus on driving and talk less, because we still have important races ahead and it’s not impossible to secure second place. In Bahrain, we won the WEC title — when Ferrari is united, results come.”

Hamilton responds: “I back my team. I back myself. I will not give up.”

So, a double response from Ferrari’s drivers?

Like Leclerc, Hamilton centered his message on unity and resilience, emphasizing that only determination and togetherness can help the team recover after a difficult weekend and keep fighting until the end of the season.

Are these just coincidences picked up by fans — or something more? Reading both posts carefully, it’s hard to ignore the impression that their public calls for team unity and focus may, in fact, be a subtle but powerful response to Elkann’s heavily criticized comments.
