Insults and threats at Interlagos targeted Riccardo Adami — Lewis Hamilton’s race engineer and long-time Ferrari figure. The entire paddock condemned the incident, as tensions continue to rise within the Scuderia.
The Brazilian GP weekend, already difficult for Ferrari on a sporting level, took an even darker turn on a human one. On Saturday at Interlagos, Adami was subjected to chants and verbal abuse from a group of fans in the grandstands.
According to witnesses and circulating social media videos, the most repeated chant was:
“Adami, pode esperar, a sua hora vai chegar” — which translates to “Adami, just wait, your time will come.” A heavy and intimidating phrase that quickly spread online. Adami reportedly turned toward the stands after hearing the chant, only to receive an obscene gesture — a middle finger — from one of the fans.

The episode left a bitter taste in the paddock and among fans worldwide. Riccardo Adami is one of the most respected engineers on the Ferrari pit wall, having worked for years alongside Sebastian Vettel and Carlos Sainz before joining Hamilton’s side. An unacceptable incident — and another reminder of the toxic behavior that continues to emerge around Formula 1, following recent altercations in Mexico.
