The future of the 2026 Madrid Grand Prix hangs by a thread: at the moment, the construction site is “dirt and idle machinery.”

RMC Motori, as reported in yesterday’s article, analyzed the very difficult situation in Madrid by going directly to the site. Some denied them access, while the few who spoke described the current mood in the area in very critical terms.

Here are their statements gathered at the entrance of the zone: “What circuit! This is just a big mess of cranes, people coming and going, stationary cars, and piles of dirt. There’s nothing here, and we don’t even know if there will be anything.”

Spanish press silent, while Imola works non-stop

Surprisingly, RMC writes, “the Spanish press has not published a single critical line about the state of the works, despite the scale of the project. Only recently have public statements from de los Mozos begun to enter the debate, calling for patience from residents.”

Imola, on the other hand, is said to be “fully available to host a GP at any time”: work on the Romagna track’s infrastructure is progressing very quickly and without problems even these weeks. It is worth remembering that, with the 2024 interventions, Imola became the first circuit in the world with eco-sustainable asphalt, demonstrating worldwide excellence and the remarkable growth of the facility.
