After a strong rookie season, Oliver Bearman is already looking ahead: his dream is to race and win with Ferrari
In his debut season as a full-time Formula 1 driver, Oliver Bearman had a solid year behind the wheel of the Haas. The British driver, a member of the Ferrari Driver Academy since 2022, finished the championship in thirteenth place with 41 points, holding his own alongside a more experienced teammate like Esteban Ocon. His best result came at the Mexico City Grand Prix, where he achieved an impressive fourth place.
Bearman: “Ferrari is the goal of my life”
Looking ahead to 2026, Haas driver number 87 hopes to build on — if not improve upon — his solid rookie season. His stated goal is to give everything he has for the chance to drive a Ferrari one day. At Maranello, they appear eager to invest in him, especially as he continues to gain valuable Formula 1 experience. The Bearman option could become particularly appealing if Lewis Hamilton decides to pursue new challenges in 2027.
For his part, should Ferrari actually come calling, Bearman feels ready to take a seat in such a prestigious team. In an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport, the British driver does not hide his ambition: “This is my dream; it’s what drives me to give my best and motivates me every morning. I want to race in red, I want to win in red: it’s the goal of my life. I was lucky to get a taste of it when I raced in Jeddah in 2024 replacing Sainz, and now that I know what it feels like, I’m even more motivated “.
At the same time, Bearman is aware that a crucial part of his future will depend on the results he can achieve in the upcoming season, possibly taking full advantage of the regulation changes: “I want 2026 to be a solid year, especially for my team, Haas, to try to seize the best opportunities with them under this new regulation change. Beyond that, I can’t control anything: I feel ready for whatever the future holds. Next year, with more experience, I want to show it even more — to everyone “.
