From the SF-26 technical datasheet, an excellent detail emerges: the new Ferrari doesn’t need to “lose weight.”
Good news is finally coming from Ferrari ahead of the 2026 season. After today’s shakedown at Fiorano, where everything apparently went smoothly, attention has now shifted to the information released by Maranello—specifically the technical datasheet, the true “ID card” of the new single-seater.

And according to the first rumors emerging from the technical sheet, the new SF-26 is already very close to the minimum weight limit set by the upcoming regulations.
Ferrari close to the minimum weight: how much is missing?
Current data indicates that the car designed by Loïc Serra and his team weighs around 770 kg – just 2 kg above the FIA-mandated minimum weight of 768 kg. Being able to go below the minimum weight is crucial in Formula 1, as it allows engineers to strategically place ballast to fine-tune the car’s balance, while also avoiding the loss of precious tenths in less optimized areas.
The news, judging also by the comments under GPKingdom’s posts, has been met by fans with a mix of sarcasm and optimism: while some highlight the efficiency of the work carried out in Maranello, others prefer not to get carried away by the first positive signs emerging so early.
