We still haven’t seen the real “Papaya” yet, but the first images of the MCL40 set to be used in testing are here!
Testing begins today, and the first piece of news of the day doesn’t come from the track: just a few minutes ago, McLaren revealed the new MCL40, shown in the version dedicated exclusively to the Barcelona shakedown.
Beyond the more technical features – such as the clear difference in sidepods compared to its engine “sisters” Mercedes and Alpine – what really stands out is the number 1 on the livery: it belongs to Lando Norris, the new 2025 World Champion.
As for the colours, the choice is black with chrome details on the bodywork: papaya, at least for the Barcelona tests, appears only in the details.
