A rapidly rising expansion

In recent years, BYD has recorded impressive growth in the global automotive sector. The company, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of electric and hybrid vehicles, has also expanded decisively into Western markets, becoming one of the most evident symbols of China’s new industrial strength in the automotive world.

This phase of rapid growth has pushed the group to consider taking another major step forward: using motorsport as a technological and media showcase to strengthen its international presence. A potential entry into one of the world’s top racing categories would represent a significant milestone—not only for BYD, but for the entire Asian automotive industry, which has rarely played a central role in elite motorsport.

Among the options on the table is a possible entry into Formula 1, the pinnacle of motorsport. However, it is an extremely complex project. Joining the Circus requires massive investments, years of technical preparation, and a sporting structure capable of competing with long‑established teams.

For the moment, there is no official decision, and the idea remains confined to the realm of strategic evaluations. Only in the coming months will it be possible to understand whether the Chinese manufacturer will truly decide to turn these preliminary assessments into a concrete project in the world of racing.
