MotoGP changes its calendar: here’s how
The 2026 MotoGP calendar has undergone a major update. Due to the ongoing geopolitical situation in the Middle East, the Qatar Grand Prix has been officially postponed.
The race at Lusail International Circuit will no longer take place on its originally scheduled date and has been rescheduled to 8 November, as previously anticipated.
A revised season finale
The postponement of the Qatar round has forced organizers to redesign the final part of the season. To maintain championship balance, the weekends of the last two European rounds have also been adjusted.
The Portuguese Grand Prix will now take place on 22 November, while the Valencian Grand Prix will close the 2026 season with the race scheduled for 29 November.
The decision was made for safety and regional stability reasons. Importantly, the race has been postponed — not cancelled — indicating optimism that the situation may improve in the near future.
