The world championship returns for the second round of the season: this weekend the 22 riders on track will compete on a circuit unfamiliar to them.
The countdown to Brazil’s return to MotoGP is coming to an end: starting tomorrow with the first sessions at the Autódromo Internacional de Goiânia, now renamed Autódromo Internacional Ayrton Senna in memory of the F1 champion.
In reality, this circuit is not entirely new to the MotoGP championship, although its presence was limited to just three years, with its last appearance on the calendar dating back to 1989. So far, no rider in the premier class has ever managed to win more than once on this track. In Goiânia, in fact, three victories were claimed by three different riders, each from a different manufacturer: Wayne Gardner with Honda in 1987, Eddie Lawson with Yamaha in 1988, and Kevin Schwantz with Suzuki in 1989.
With no reference data available and uncertain weather conditions, this Grand Prix could reshuffle the cards.
