Pecco Bagnaia is in a dark mood: “I know we’ll come back eventually, but for now…”
There’s huge disappointment in the Ducati garage of the No. 63 rider: Pecco Bagnaia crashed and scored a disappointing zero in Goiania, a result that, given how 2026 has started, already seems to put him out of the world championship fight.

Bagnaia’s words
Pecco Bagnaia told Sky Sport MotoGP: “Starting from the back never helps, but given how I crashed today, I don’t think it would have been much different starting further up. I didn’t feel good on the bike during the race, I couldn’t push, and I felt completely at the mercy of the bike. It was a difficult weekend, much like the previous one: I struggle to understand what’s happening and to find consistency.”
“Compared to yesterday, it was even worse. In the Sprint, at least I was stuck behind Alex, but I had a good pace. Today I had none of that—I couldn’t do what I wanted and ended up crashing in Turn 1 without even pushing too hard. That makes everything even more frustrating.”
“We’re working hard; I know we’ll get back to where we should be eventually, but we need to rebuild speed, and it’s not an easy path. In testing I was competitive, and even here in practice I was strong, but between qualifying and the race I can’t put it all together.”
“Right now I feel limited in my riding, I can’t express what I know I’m capable of. I struggle even more on the soft tire, while with the medium I can manage the bike better, but it’s not enough. I need to regain feeling, especially at the front, because that’s where I can’t get the sensations I had up until last year,” he concludes.
