Kimi Antonelli wins the Suzuka GP and is World Championship LEADER for the first time in his career! These are the F1 standings after Suzuka!
The Suzuka GP has just ended with Kimi Antonelli’s second win in a row! The Italian driver took advantage of a favorable Safety Car and moves to first place in the world standings, +9 points ahead of teammate George Russell, who finished the race in fourth position after being very unlucky with the Safety Car deployment. Second was Oscar Piastri, who completed a fantastic race.
Closing the podium was a masterful Charles Leclerc, who defended against George Russell’s attacks for over 10 laps after also passing his teammate. Norris finished fifth, also the protagonist (and winner) of an excellent battle with Lewis Hamilton. Gasly and Verstappen fought for seventh place for half the race, and the Alpine driver won the battle, followed by Liam Lawson and Esteban Ocon, scoring his first points of the year.
