Ollie Bearman crashes violently into the barriers: the driver limps out of the car, but it’s just a bad bruise to his knee
A Japanese Grand Prix to forget for Oliver Bearman, who was unfortunately involved in an incident that brought his race to an early end. The British driver was forced to retire after a heavy impact with the barriers while attempting to overtake Colapinto.
Bearman crash: what happened
The incident occurred on lap 22, near the Spoon Curve. Bearman, while attacking, suddenly found himself right behind Colapinto’s car, which had slowed down due to a clipping issue. The Alpine slightly ran wide to defend its position, forcing the Brit to do the same.

While trying to complete the overtake, Bearman put his wheels on the grass, lost control of the car, and crashed heavily into the barriers.
The impact, estimated at around 50G, raised serious concern, especially as the driver was seen limping as he exited the car.After checks at the medical centre, Haas reassured everyone about Bearman’s condition: no serious injuries, just a heavy knee contusion. No action was taken by the FIA, which decided not to investigate the incident, leaving Colapinto’s position unchanged.
