Charles Leclerc discussed the updates Ferrari intends to bring, but nothing will change on the PU front in Miami.
Despite Charles Leclerc‘s impressive performance, which ended with the Monegasque driver finishing third, the Suzuka weekend once again revealed Ferrari to be slightly inferior to the Mercedes-powered ones on the PU front. Leclerc himself, who made two fantastic overtaking moves on Lewis Hamilton and George Russell, attempted to analyze the situation in depth, clarifying that there will be no substantial changes on the PU front in Miami.
Here are the specific words of Ferrari’s number 16: “There’s one clear area we need to improve on, and that’s definitely the power unit. Obviously, we can’t bring anything to Miami in terms of the engine. We’ll focus on the rest, namely the tyre operating window, aerodynamics, and the chassis. We’ll work flat out to try to close the gap to Mercedes as much as possible, while also hoping to keep McLaren behind us. The power unit is our main weakness right now, but there are many other aspects that can certainly help us close the gap in the meantime.”
