Toto Wolff spoke about the upcoming round of the season, which could mark a turning point in many ways.
Formula 1 is on hiatus due to the cancellation of the Bahrain and Saudi Arabia Grand Prix races, caused by the escalation of the conflict in the Middle East. The sport will return to action in exactly one month with the Miami Grand Prix, which many believe could mark a fresh start. Over the course of this month, all teams will focus on updates, bringing significant packages to the US round.
In addition to the work of the various teams, however, the Federation will also be involved, given the important meeting on April 9th (in London) to better understand and amend some of the new regulations, at least in qualifying. Echoing Fred Vasseur‘s words, who identified Miami as the start of a new championship, was Toto Wolff, who, when asked about the topic, spoke as follows:
Here are his words: “Miami will be a new start to the season because we’ll discover how the updates the teams have introduced will work. How will we have optimized all the other systems? I think it will be exciting. The teams and drivers are starting to understand how to optimize these systems to their advantage, and we saw the first signs of this in Japan. During the first two races, we were still dominant, but already in Suzuka, that wasn’t the case. We’ve always warned people about this, because we’ve only competed in three GPs. Right now, we look like heroes, but it’s entirely possible that we won’t be in three more races.”.
