Leonardo Fornaroli completed his second test with McLaren. The young Italian driver, who debuted in Spain at the wheel of the British car, took to the track at Silverstone, completing 68 laps, equivalent to 383 km. Another good test, therefore, for the reigning F2 champion, to rack up the miles and learn every single secret of an F1 car, in this case the McLaren, fresh from Oscar Piastri’s podium at Suzuka.
Fornaroli himself had this to say at the end of the test: “Another good day on track, it was fantastic to be back in the MCL60. Silverstone is one of my favorite circuits, so I’m grateful to McLaren for the opportunity to get back behind the wheel of an F1 car here. Being my second test, the program was more advanced: I was able to try different set-ups and run on different fuel levels, which continues to strengthen my understanding of a Formula 1 car.”
The 21-year-old Italian driver then added: “I’m very satisfied with the day and have continued to improve since the test a few weeks ago, feeling increasingly comfortable with these cars. I look forward to continuing testing throughout the year, which is crucial for my role as McLaren Mastercard Reserve Driver and for my growth within the DDP program.”
