Ralf Schumacher has harshly attacked Red Bull, discussing the car and criticizing the technical director Pierre Waché
An unleashed Ralf Schumacher. The German, who usually comments on paddock events for Sky Germany, has expressed his opinion on Red Bull’s start to the season in this 2026.
Following a World Championship lost by only two points last season, expectations for the entry of the Ford PU in partnership with Red Bull, thus severing the relationship with Honda, were certainly high; however, the results so far seem to be quite disappointing.
Ralf Schumacher’s attack on Red Bull and Waché
The former German driver thus addressed the Red Bull topic: “We have to be honest and say that Red Bull is currently a total disaster“.
After having already attacked the RB22, Ralf spoke about Mekies, first appreciating him and then criticizing him: “I like Laurent, but that is not his role. He knows how to recruit the best people to work with“.
“However, it is not enough to be a good engineer or an excellent organizer, you need a charismatic leader who knows how to manage crises, and so far we haven’t seen any of this from him in this championship. We are seeing a car that does not give the drivers confidence, and this is a technical failure“.
Finally, there is no shortage of criticism for Pierre Waché either: “A major update is coming, but everyone is holding their breath, they are losing ground. To be honest, I am not optimistic, because I believe Waché is unable to bring the technology into harmony with the driver “.
