Ferrari has completed its filming day on the Monza track, with positive indications from the two Ferrari drivers.
The forced break allowed Ferrari to test the very first new features of the championship in a filming day shot on the Monza track. Today, Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton took to the track for the 200km required by the Federation, lapping the Lombardy circuit; this was an opportunity to test the latest innovations and potential upgrades ahead of the Miami round, scheduled in less than two weeks.
Of course, the events on the straights of the Monza track are being kept strictly confidential, but initial information leaking out suggests positive indications from the two drivers during the day. Leclerc took center stage in the morning, while Hamilton drove in the afternoon. The screening work was conducted not only on the aerodynamics side, but also on energy management, in compliance with the new parameters established by the FIA following the April 20 announcement.
Ferrari returned to testing the Macarena wing (which could provide an advantage of between 8 and 10 km/h), but its debut is not yet certain ahead of the next race weekend. The halo flap was also tested, while other modifications (after a month of continuous work) will only be visible at the Miami race.
