Ralf Schumacher spoke about the news of Lewis Hamilton’s possible retirement: according to him, the 7-time World Champion should retire.
Late yesterday evening, the news of Lewis Hamilton’s possible retirement spread. The “bomb was dropped” from the Netherlands: the 7-time World Champion will announce his retirement in a special race for him: his home race, Silverstone.
Lewis has been experiencing several ups and downs for some seasons now, and the current season confirms this. After the first podium with Ferrari on the beloved China circuit, the Suzuka and Miami rounds were disappointing again. Even the feeling with this SF-26 does not seem to be the best: in recent days, news has leaked regarding some difficulties for the Briton with the Maranello simulator.

Ralf Schumacher wanted to advise his colleague on the path to take, praising him for his career, but showing doubts about the Stevenage driver’s revival.
Schumacher: “Lewis should leave space for…”
These are the words of Michael Schumacher’s brother: “This year Hamilton is in a better position compared to last season, but he probably won’t have any chance against Leclerc in the long run. Both Lewis and Alonso have experienced wonderful moments in F1, but I think the time has come to leave the cockpit at the end of the year and give space to the youth. Hamilton has achieved all the goals he wanted.” Ralf then wanted to praise the Ferrari driver, recognizing the greatness of his career: “He is one of the greatest drivers of all time, but I believe everything has an end. That’s why I think it’s time to give space to the younger generation. “
Schumacher then continued: “Oliver Bearman deserves the chance to drive for Ferrari. I also believe that, if he gets it, he can compete with Leclerc. It wouldn’t be easy for Charles. People want to maintain the Lewis Hamilton brand, but there are many promising young drivers in F2 who deserve an opportunity. I hope that next year the starting grid will be a bit younger.”
Lewis Hamilton’s future has not yet been written and Lewis himself has not yet expressed his will to continue or not his career in Formula 1. Only time will give the answers to all the doubts.
