After years of partnership, a divorce at the end of the season between the Enstone-based team and BWT seems likely. Who will be Alpine’s next title sponsor?
Alpine’s entry into F1 dates back to 2021. After five seasons as Renault (from 2016 to 2020), the Anglo-French team headquartered in Enstone has gradually “absorbed” everything previously based in Viry-Châtillon, reaching the point of abandoning its own Power Unit starting this season.
The switch to Mercedes engines was merely the final piece of the puzzle, marking a complete detachment from its French heritage. However, from 2027, Flavio Briatore’s team appears set for further renewal, this time on the sponsorship front.
The choice of the new sponsor and the “monstre” figures
Following a strong weekend in Miami and a steady climb up the standings (inevitable after finishing last in the 2025 Constructors’ Championship), Alpine is now focusing on its commercial partnerships.
According to GPBlog, the Enstone squad is reportedly ready for an incredible new partnership with Gucci. A global icon of high fashion, the brand could represent another piece of Italy entering the circus, with a deal estimated to be worth around €50-70 million.
This entry is far from improbable or trivial. In fact, Gucci would join as Alpine’s title sponsor, replacing BWT, whose contract as primary sponsor is set to expire this December.
