This is the third Sprint Race of the Formula 1 season: everything is ready at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve for the first race of the weekend, with both Mercedes at the front and both McLaren cars chasing behind.

Lap 23 – Race ends! George Russell wins the Sprint, with Norris on the podium and Antonelli delivering a standout show. Strong performance also from Racing Bulls and Lindblad, who finishes 8th.
Lap 23 – ANTONELLI AGAIN, WIDE ONCE MORE! The Mercedes driver goes all-in but runs wide again while attempting a move on Norris. Action behind them too: Hamilton loses two positions to Piastri and Leclerc.
Lap 21 – Hamilton hits the Wall of Champions, car OK. No penalty for Verstappen.
Lap 20 – 10-second penalty for Nico Hülkenberg, Verstappen under investigation for yellow flag infringement. Pit stop for Pierre Gasly.
Lap 17 – Top three still close, but no overtakes attempted. Russell complains about Albon during blue flag situation.
Lap 14 – No investigation for Russell, but Norris is now right behind him.
Lap 10 – Hamilton attacks for the podium: tries a move on Antonelli into Turn 1, but Kimi defends. Race partially compromised for the championship leader. Hadjar is back on track.
Lap 8 – Race order unchanged. Hadjar officially retires.
Lap 6 – ANTONELLI WIDE AGAIN! He goes off into the grass, Norris moves up to P2, Russell extends his lead! Mercedes show is incredible! Antonelli asks for a penalty on Russell, the 19-year-old from Bologna is furious.
Lap 6 – CLOSE CALL! Antonelli attempts an outside move into Turn 1, Russell forces him onto the grass.
Lap 5 – HADJAR ISSUES! Engine failure for his Red Bull.
Lap 4 – Mercedes untouchable. Stroll under investigation for start procedure infringement.
Lap 2 – Positions after the start.
Lap 1 – LIGHTS OUT! Top positions remain unchanged. The only overtake is Lewis Hamilton passing Piastri with a strong move around the outside. Antonelli defends well against Norris as the Mercedes pair already pull away. Hülkenberg runs wide into the grass.
17:59 – Incredible scenes: Aston Martin tries again! Total confusion: Stroll had already taken his suit off, before being told to get back in the car. It is still unclear if he will take part in the Sprint.
17:57 – 17:57 – Stroll removes his suit, car being taken away. He will NOT start the race!
17:40 – Four penalties issued in the last minutes: updated Sprint grid released.
