A weekend to remember for Flavio Briatore’s team, crossing the finish line in sixth and eighth position
A picture-perfect weekend. The Canadian weekend ends with this verdict for Alpine, happily returning to Enstone with a solid 12 points on the board.

Franco Colapinto’s sixth place and Pierre Gasly’s eighth crowned a dream Sunday for Flavio Briatore’s team, which has now climbed to fifth in the Constructors’ Championship. This is something unthinkable if you look back a few months, when Alpine ended 2025 in December with only 22 points in the standings.
When upgrades work: driver satisfaction
A fundamental pillar of Alpine’s rebirth is undoubtedly the upgrades. The package led to an excellent Miami GP, concluding with a solid seventh place and six points for Franco Colapinto, and firmly found confirmation in Montréal.

The Argentine, certainly in his best form since joining F1, not only improved further in Canada (finishing exactly sixth), but fully regained the trust of Briatore and the Enstone pit wall, now aware they can rely on more than just Gasly, unlike the norm in 2025.
Franco thus expressed himself: “Considering where we started this weekend, getting a double points finish for the team is a great result. I am very proud of the work we are doing together and it’s a great team result today. It is also my best result in Formula 1, which makes me very happy and confirms the performance shown in Miami. We know we benefited from the misfortunes of others, and it’s never nice to capitalize on other people’s problems, but we maximized everything we could and brought the car to the finish line.” “.
Some regrets, however, for Pierre Gasly, who did finish the GP in eighth position but failed to get the better of Liam Lawson’s Racing Bull. The New Zealander’s defense (very on the edge at times, ed.) didn’t overly condition Pierre’s weekend, who commented: “Overall, it is an excellent team result and important points for the championship.”

“On my side, it was a result achieved through damage limitation, as we managed to recover from a difficult weekend, finishing eighth and in the points. Generally speaking, however, I still struggled with the car and, as a team, we need to understand the reason and try to fix some problem areas”.
“There is a lot of work ahead of us to get the car back into a good window, and this is our goal from here to Monaco. It was hard to find a gap to overtake Lawson and we couldn’t pass him, so we had to settle for eighth position. Now I can’t wait to get to Monaco, it’s my favorite place of the year “.
A small statistical note regarding Gasly, who currently has only two points less in the standings than his entire previous season’s Championship, which he finished with 22 points. And we are only at the fifth race.
