Di Giannantonio leads the way, with an outstanding result for the Italian riders. But a big name is out!
The pre-qualifying session for the Italian Grand Prix at Mugello delivered the first real verdict of the weekend: the list of ten riders who will go directly into tomorrow’s Q2.

It was a hectic session, featuring two red flags, a crash for Quartararo, and technical issues for Binder. In the end, however, the session produced a clear result — and a very positive one for Italian fans.

The Pre-Qualifying session for the Italian Grand Prix
The fastest rider was Fabio Di Giannantonio, who set a 1:44.808 to top the session with a strong margin. Just behind him came Francesco Bagnaia by 91 thousandths, followed by Enea Bastianini at 103, and Franco Morbidelli in fourth, completing an all-Italian top four at Mugello in front of the home crowd.

Fermin Aldeguer finished fifth, with a strong return performance from Marc Marquez in sixth after his injury. The remaining Q2 qualifiers are Marco Bezzecchi, Jorge Martin, Alex Rins, and Diogo Moreira.
The biggest shock is Pedro Acosta. The KTM rider, one of the pre-weekend favourites, fails to break into the top ten and will have to go through Q1 in what promises to be a tense Saturday session. Ai Ogura also misses out, finishing 11th by just 79 thousandths from qualification.
