Philippe Bianchi’s tribute to his late son Jules, 9 years after his passing: “I will love you forever, Jules”
On July 17, 2015, 9 years ago today, Jules Bianchi succumbed after nine months of struggle, leaving behind his father Philippe, mother Christine, brother Tom, and sister Melanie. It was a tragic moment for Formula 1, which hadn’t experienced such a loss since Ayrton Senna’s passing in 1994. The loss was particularly hard on his family, who had dreamt of seeing Jules drive for Ferrari one day.
Philippe Bianchi, Jules’ father, remembered his son with an Instagram post: “Nine years ago, you were freed from your body that was unfortunately imprisoning you. Today you live somewhere else, but you are always close to us. I will love you forever and I miss you so much, Jules: thank you to everyone who had even a thought for him on this day.”
