BREAKING: Ferrari Saves Leclerc’s Floor in Hungary! No Replacement Needed for the SF-24

by Stefano Zambroni

Good news from Budapest for the Reds: the damaged floor of Charles Leclerc’s Ferrari SF-24 has been recovered after the FP2 crash.

This morning it seemed that Ferrari mechanics would have to install a new floor on Charles Leclerc’s car for FP3. The Monegasque driver’s car suffered extensive damage: the impact with the curb, then the rear, and finally the front raised many doubts about the integrity of the car and the work required for the mechanics. The main concern was the floor, which the Maranello team had specifically prepared for the Hungarian Grand Prix with a new update.

However, after a thorough inspection in the garage, reporters from F1ingenerale confirmed that the recovered floor is the one damaged during FP2 yesterday.

The incident during Free Practice 2

Yesterday, during the second free practice session, Leclerc lost control of his car coming out of Turn 4, hitting the wall. The impact caused significant damage to the car, necessitating various repairs ahead of today’s sessions and preventing the number 16 driver from completing the long run simulation (here is the full ANALYSIS of the race pace).

Ferrari mechanics worked diligently to recover the damaged floor, managing to repair it in time for Leclerc to participate in FP3 with the original floor. This intervention avoided the need to use a new floor, leaving the team with no spare parts (only three floors were brought to Hungary, one of which arrived just yesterday morning) and preventing major changes to the car seen during yesterday’s sessions.
