Finally, the news has arrived: Carlos Sainz’s transfer to Williams starting in 2025 is now official. Here are the words of the Team Principal of Scuderia Ferrari, who will bid farewell to the Spanish driver at the end of the season!

There was a long-awaited piece of news in the Formula 1 paddocks, fueling a series of rumors in the media, and it is about Carlos Sainz’s next team. There were many possible scenarios: many thought of the Spaniard joining Toto Wolff’s team, or even Christian Horner’s team, once again alongside Max Verstappen; or, alternatively, alongside Pierre Gasly at Alpine. In the end, however, the current Ferrari driver chose Williams Racing, where he will race alongside Alexander Albon.

At this point, it is reasonable to think that we will likely see Logan Sargeant leaving Formula 1 to focus on IndyCar. According to some sources, it is possible that the American driver has already signed an agreement with Prema Racing, which will debut in the category in 2025. Of course, only time will confirm the rumors, but the probabilities are high.

Here is what Fred Vasseur thinks about Sainz’s move to Williams: his words

The Scuderia Ferrari Team Principal, through a social media post, shared his thoughts on his current driver’s move to James Vowles’ team, while also keeping an eye on the second half of the Formula 1 season, during which Sainz will continue to wear the Red suit: “I am pleased that Carlos will be joining Williams Racing next season. It is a team with a great history and a rich heritage, founded by a visionary man with ambitious goals, so I know Carlos will feel at home there.”

I have great respect for James, and I am confident that Carlos will make a valuable contribution to his team. For now, Carlos is still very much a Ferrari driver, and for the remaining ten races, we will all work hard, focusing on our goals and fighting together for every single point until the last lap of this championship” Vasseur continued.

Charles Leclerc also wanted to bid farewell to his teammate, through a social media post, saying in the description:“Wishing you the best for your new adventure next year, Chili. Still got half a season together to have some more special moments as team mates”.
