Summer break yes, but not for Pirelli, which has unveiled in advance the tire choices for the September Formula 1 events!
Despite the summer break starting right after the Belgian weekend, Pirelli has preferred to announce the tire compounds that will be used during the Grand Prix events scheduled for September; specifically, for Italian Grand Prix in Monza, for Azerbaijan, and for Singapore.
The chosen compounds for the previously mentioned events will be the C3 as Hard, the C4 as Medium, and the C5 as Soft, confirming the choices the Italian tire supplier made during the past season as well. A surprising choice, however, is the decision to bring the same tire package to the Monza circuit, which has been completely resurfaced; this could set the stage for an Italian Grand Prix full of challenges for the teams, as well as for the drivers, who will have to discover in real time how the tires will perform on the new asphalt.
And for the Dutch Grand Prix? Here are the choices!
For the Zandvoort weekend, which will kick off the season on August 23, Pirelli appears to have opted for the usual combination of the hardest tire compounds in its range, the same used at Silverstone: C1 as Hard, C2 as Medium, and C3 as Soft. Additionally, it’s worth noting that the Dutch weekend has recently been at the center of numerous rumors about its future presence on the Formula 1 calendar.
