It seems that the rookies on track for 2025 will be three: Jack Doohan at Alpine, Oliver Bearman at Haas, and… Kimi Antonelli at Mercedes. The highly anticipated announcement for the latter could come at the end of the summer break, when the Italian driver will have turned 18.

The words of ex Alpine team principal, Bruno Famin, had suggested that “the Australian could turn his current role as a reserve driver into a full-time position starting next January. Instead, according to Motorsport.com, it is a done deal and the announcement of Jack Doohan at Alpine should come in the next few days, after he has been busy on the Spa track with the Estone team for Pirelli testing.

Jack Doohan could find a welcoming acquaintance in the new team principal Oliver Oakes, announced today; additionally, the Australian is also supported by Mark Webber, who was managed by Flavio Briatore for years and has recently returned to Formula 1.
