The Spaniard, who secured pole position (with a track record) in this morning’s qualifying in Austria, suffered a deep cut that required two stitches and caused significant pain in his left thumb, as evidenced by the grimaces on his face and the frequent check-ups by Dr. Charte.
Gino Borsoi spoke to Sandro Donato Grosso: “The finger issue wasn’t as serious as it initially seemed. The level of competition between him and Bagnaia is incredible, and no one expected such times today. Generally, adrenaline reduces pain, and today was the first time he put on the glove, so the stitches might cause discomfort. I think the worst is over, and today’s qualifying was the most delicate part. I believe things will go better in the Sprint at 3 PM”.
