F2 Free Practice Results at Monza: Zane Maloney Leads the First Session, Followed by Bortoleto and O’Sullivan

With the first Formula 3 practice session completed, it’s time for the junior category to take to the track at Monza. Zane Maloney currently holds the fastest time with a 1:32.385, largely thanks to a first sector completed in 29.3 seconds, making him over two-tenths quicker than anyone else. He is followed by Gabriel Bortoleto and Zak O’Sullivan, both of whom appeared very confident on the Monza circuit.

Fourth fastest was a surprising Ritomo Miyata, while Prema’s Ollie Bearman secured fifth place. Bearman has faced several challenges in the early part of this season, despite his impressive Formula 1 debut in Saudi Arabia. Rounding out the top 10 were Martins, Durksen, Hauger, and the two title contenders Hadjar and Aron.

It wasn’t a great session for Kimi Antonelli. The Italian driver, who is soon set to make his first FP1 appearance in Formula 1, finished the session in 18th place. Midway through the session, his Prema car came to a stop in the pit lane, partly due to an incident involving MP Motorsport’s Oliver Goethe, a newcomer to the category, stopping ahead of him.
