The clash between Pecco Bagnaia and Alex Marquez continues to stir up controversy, with the Spanish rider facing accusations of intentionally causing the incident. Despite Dorna’s decision not to further investigate, the collision has sparked heated discussions on social media, with many suggesting that “Marquez deliberately caused Bagnaia’s crash.

Marquez-Bagnaia Controversy: Old Wounds Resurfacing?

The tension echoes the infamous 2015 clashes between Valentino Rossi and Marc Marquez. Now, with Bagnaia, the star of VR46, and Alex Marquez, Marc’s brother, the rivalry seems to persist, albeit with new faces. The incident, while controversial, did not result in serious physical injuries, but the debate over its cause remains heated, with many fans siding with the Italian rider.

Alex Marquez’s Statement Against Criticism

In response to the accusations, Alex Marquez released a statement: “After reading some comments, I want to clarify that I would never deliberately cause an accident with another rider, and I won’t accept being accused of such. It’s not in my DNA, nor is it in the DNA of this sport. The most important thing for me now is the conversation I had with Pecco yesterday, and as far as I’m concerned, the case is closed. Now it’s time to rest and recover my body to be 100% ready for Misano.”

The two riders reportedly had a second conversation to clear the air, although tensions remained high during the initial press conference. Bagnaia openly stated that “Alex Marquez told him to go to hell, while Marquez, initially, did not back down from his actions.
