David Alonso’s Biography

David Alonso was born in Madrid in 2006 to a Colombian mother and a Spanish father: having dual citizenship, David had the opportunity to choose which nation to represent, and he opted for the South American country. Before him, no Colombian had ever won a world championship in MotoGP. He made his Moto3 debut in 2021 with GasGas, racing only in the Emilia-Romagna GP, while in 2022 he participated in the Portuguese GP.

In 2023, he became a full-time rider for GasGas, racing as a Rookie and completing the second half of the championship in an outstanding manner, with four first-place finishes. This year, however, he has amazed everyone: 10 full-score races are something rare in a competitive championship like Moto3. The rider with the next most wins is Ivan Ortolà, currently fourth in the championship, who has only been on the top step of the podium twice.
