Recently, Ralph Lauren Fragrances announced its collaboration with Lando Norris, who becomes the new face of the POLO RED campaign. This initiative joins those of other Formula 1 drivers, such as Charles Leclerc, who have formed partnerships with prestigious brands.
Through a press release, Ralph Lauren explained that the revamped POLO RED campaign aims to strengthen the brand’s connection with the world of sports by choosing a world-class athlete like Norris, who is experiencing one of his best seasons in Formula 1, competing for the World Championship title while pursuing Max Verstappen and trying to fend off the Monegasque in the Ferrari. Additionally, the brand praised the McLaren driver’s “unwavering determination, focus, and fearless ambition,” describing these qualities as the essence of the POLO spirit and the motto “Design Your Dreams.”
Lando Norris commented: “It has been an honor to work with Ralph Lauren Fragrances on a campaign that reflects my emotions during races. ‘POLO RED’ embodies the moment before a race, when I put on my helmet and the adrenaline starts to flow, ready to go.”
During the United States Grand Prix in Texas and the announcement of the partnership with the renowned American brand, Lando Norris was interviewed by Rolling Stone, where he had the opportunity to discuss his first major experience in the fashion industry.
When asked what motivated him to collaborate with Ralph Lauren Fragrances, the McLaren driver replied: “I am part of one of the biggest teams in the world of sports, and I’m fortunate to meet many important names involved in Formula 1. I wanted to work with the best professionals from other fields, and Ralph Lauren is definitely one of the most prestigious names in the fashion world. Additionally, it was an opportunity for me to step into a different realm and have experiences I had never had before.”
More and more often, Formula 1 drivers are forming partnerships with well-known fashion brands, making the combination of fashion and drivers possible. They can become true icons, as seen in the case of Lewis Hamilton. Regarding this topic, Lando Norris shared how he sometimes feels pressure when being photographed during race weekends: “I always choose my outfits, and I probably should have a stylist, because sometimes I put too much pressure on myself when deciding what to wear.“
