After Haas’ “America” colors and Alpine’s orange, it’s now McLaren’s turn to shine in chrome: here is the new livery of the MCL38!
“Chrome is back,” announced the team in Woking regarding the “new” colors of the MCL38, the extraordinary car currently dominating the final stretch of races in Formula 1.
A throwback for the Woking team: in collaboration with Google Chrome, McLaren has announced a one-off chrome livery, reminiscent of the historic and victorious McLarens from the early 2000s and 2010s.
This will be the third special livery for this weekend: after Haas’ in honor of their home Grand Prix and Alpine’s orange livery in collaboration with Indiana Jones, the constructors’ leaders will also don new colors for the upcoming race.
McLaren, the return of “chrome”
McLaren states on its website: “As part of McLaren Racing’s ‘Chrome Shines Again’ campaign, the livery – which was first reimagined at the British Grand Prix in 2023 – sees the return of the iconic chrome from McLaren race cars of seasons past, with a modern twist to represent the team’s enduring legacy.”
