After the Austin round, the Circus heads to Sergio Perez’s home race: here are the weather and schedule details for F1 in Mexico!
It was a big celebration in Austin: Ferrari secured a 1-2 finish in the US for the first time in 18 years, showing a level of performance that the SF-24 hadn’t demonstrated before. However, there is little time to enjoy the celebrations: Formula 1 is back, and the next stop is Mexico, Sergio Perez’s home Grand Prix.

The track: Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez
The Hermanos Rodríguez Circuit, located in Mexico City, is one of the most waited tracks on the Formula 1 calendar. Opened in 1962, it is named after the Rodríguez brothers, Ricardo and Pedro, two legendary Mexican drivers. The track stretches 4.304 kilometers and features 17 corners, including the famous “Peraltada,” a high-speed parabolic curve that was modified in the past for safety reasons. The circuit is notable for its altitude of approximately 2,200 meters above sea level (the highest on the F1 calendar), which creates unique challenges for the cars, as the thin air impacts aerodynamics and engine cooling.
However, the most famous section is the Foro Sol, a part of the track that cuts through a stadium, creating a spectacular atmosphere with fans in close proximity. Since its return to the calendar in 2015 with a revamped layout, the stadium section has become iconic, hosting post-race celebrations (it’s also where the podium is located) and traditional Mexican festivities in the stands.
