A setback for the Thai driver as his Williams will not take part in the race. However, there’s a twist in the Formula 1 saga…
The red flags during Brazilian GP qualifying have claimed their first casualty: Alexander Albon, who suffered a significant crash near the end of Q3 (where he was running in second position, just behind Norris), will not be racing at 15:30.
Albon had qualified seventh, but his final attempt was cut short due to the incident at the entry of Turn 1. Now, he’ll be watching the race from the pit wall as his Williams FW43 has sustained too much damage, also putting his teammate Franco Colapinto’s participation at risk.
UPDATE: F1 Removes Statement on Albon!
A surprising turn of events just before the Grand Prix: Formula 1 removed all social media posts announcing Albon’s exclusion. Williams then shared, “The damage to both cars is extensive, but the team is working hard to try to get them on the grid.”
Further updates are expected shortly, with some hope still remaining for car #23.
