Lewis Hamilton finished in tenth place at the Brazilian Grand Prix, where he paid tribute to Ayrton Senna by driving his 1990 McLaren.

It was a bittersweet Brazil for Lewis Hamilton. The seven-time world champion, who had an emotional lap with Senna’s McLaren before the race, ended the GP in tenth place, facing numerous challenges.

The British driver, struggling since the first practice sessions, battled all weekend with issues of balance and drivability in his car, as reflected in the team radios during the race. Even the rain, which has always been a friend to Lewis, didn’t help Mercedes‘driver recover, and he ultimately finished in tenth place after an exciting generational duel with Lawson.

Hamilton, who congratulated race winner Max Verstappen on Instagram, commented on his GP: “Today was a really tough race for us, probably one of the hardest weekends of the season, to be honest. The car was very difficult to drive all weekend, and it never improved at any point during the race.”

However, the seven-time world champion can still smile at the beautiful tribute to Senna and the warm atmosphere of the Brazilian fans. He said: “Even with today’s results, it’s hard to leave upset because the fans here are incredible.. It was such an unusual day with the qualifying session moved up, and they lined up since 4 AM this morning. You can’t beat that commitment and positivity, no matter the outcome on track.

It was so emotional to drive Senna’s car in front of all of them this morning and connect with the five-year-old kid inside me. It was a very special moment for me, and I’m really grateful we were able to make that happen today, despite the conditions.””.
