Domizia Castagnini denies today’s fake news circulating on social media: “Pecco’s manager supposedly claimed that her pregnancy is the reason for his performance drop.”
In the world of social media, especially on Facebook, it’s very easy to fall for fake news and completely groundless stories. This happened today to several MotoGP fans who came across an alleged (and obviously totally unfounded) “shocking revelation from Pecco Bagnaia’s manager.”
The content? Pecco’s wife, Domizia Castagnini, is supposedly pregnant, and this was cited as a reason for the Italian rider’s performance dip. Bagnaia is currently 2nd in the MotoGP world championship, trailing Jorge Martin by 24 points. According to the fake story, this off-track twist allegedly unsettled the Chivasso-born talent, who’s in the chase for his third consecutive MotoGP world title and fourth career title.
Domizia Denies: “We Didn’t Even Know Ourselves…”
Domizia was quick to deny the rumor, a response later reshared on Instagram by Bagnaia himself, on the second anniversary of his first MotoGP title. “Wonderful news, but we didn’t even know ourselves!” she joked, mocking the unfounded claim.
This so-called scoop was simply a “like-bait”, with no pregnancy and no performance drop for the Ducati rider, who is fully focused on competing for the championship in the final round in Barcelona.
