The Brazilian driver, currently in the running for the F2 title, gave an interesting interview on the F1 Nation Podcast. He touched on several topics, starting with last week’s announcement: “I think it’s a dream to get to F1, just like it’s a dream to be part of a project where I see a bright future. For 2025, my goal is to make progress within an F1 team. I need to learn a lot of new things, but I’m looking forward to it, just like I’m excited to bring the mentality, spirit, and dedication of a young driver.”

Bortoleto‘s rise began in the lower categories, as demonstrated by his words: “I won F3 last year and now I’m leading the F2 championship. It’s been a really good journey, not so simple in the beginning, and it’s still not easy, but I’m grateful for the position I’m in right now.”

The Brazilian is eager to prove himself: “Becoming an F1 driver is the dream that every driver wants to achieve. For me, it doesn’t change anything; I’ve worked every day of my life to one day be on this grid and be part of an incredible project, where I see potential winning prospects. I’m exactly where I wanted to be, and that means a lot to me.”

When it comes to role models, Bortoleto has no doubts: “Right now, I really like the way Max drives. I particularly admire his qualifying laps and how much he extracts from the car in those laps. . Of course, it can be very difficult. We’ve seen that in recent races, but it’s clear that Verstappen and Norris are fighting for the championship, so we expect them to face off like that.” .

PI think since I was young, I’ve always been amazed by the way Max drives. This is because I drove for a team that he also drove for in karting, so they always told me stories about him. I would always think, ‘Okay, what would Max do in this situation?’ And I’ve always wanted to be like him, because he won everything in the junior series.” “.
