Formula 1 returns from Sin City, the third-to-last race of the season that could prove decisive for the Championship. For the occasion, Scuderia Ferrari is preparing with small updates and new merchandise in Las Vegas.
The week of the final triple-header of this Formula 1 season is starting, and it kicks off in Las Vegas, a crucial race for the Constructors’ Championship, as well as for the Drivers’ Championship. Max Verstappen could secure his fourth title with two races to spare.
After a period of slump that began following Charles Leclerc’s victory in Monaco and continued until the Italian Grand Prix, where the Monegasque driver triumphed once again, Scuderia Ferrari is now experiencing one of its brightest phases of the year. This turnaround is largely thanks to the team’s double victory in Texas and the 1-3 finish in Mexico City. Ferrari’s successes in the Americas have allowed the Maranello team to close the gap on Red Bull and dangerously approach the Constructors’ Championship leader, McLaren, now just 36 points ahead.
If we take a step back to last year in Las Vegas, the weekend in Nevada was a positive one for Ferrari, with Charles Leclerc securing an excellent second place after a last-lap overtaking move on Sergio Perez. Therefore, the chances for the Scuderia to repeat such a performance in this edition of the Las Vegas GP, on a track that suits the Red car, are certainly there.
Back to the present, as exclusively reported by Autoracer.com (Formu1a.uno), Fred Vasseur’s team will return to the track along the Strip with a new experimental floor to be used during the Friday free practice sessions. This could prove useful for the development of the 677 project, which concerns Ferrari’s 2025 car, the first to be driven by Lewis Hamilton in a Ferrari Red.
Additionally, as reported by the Italian outlet, the real novelty on the SF-24 will be a front wing with less downforce compared to the one used in Monza. This will be considered as an option if the latter provides good grip levels. As for the rear, the engineers will select the most suitable options between those used in Belgium and those from Italy. Finally, Ferrari currently has no plans to change the power unit on car number 16, as was previously thought.
Not only technical modifications to the car for Ferrari in Las Vegas: a new merchandise collection is also arriving
Following Alpine’s promotion for the release of Deadpool & Wolverine, Scuderia Ferrari might opt for a Gladiator II-themed livery, which has been in Italian theaters since November 14 (although nothing is confirmed yet). However, what is reported by Autoracer.com is that, most likely, both the drivers’ suits and the mechanics’ overalls will feature a logo to commemorate the launch of Ridley Scott’s film.
In addition to these small modifications, Maranello arrives in Sin City with a new, specially designed merchandise collection for the Las Vegas GP: “The shades of the Mojave Desert preview the energy of the Las Vegas GP with a new edition of clothing and accessories for all Formula 1 enthusiasts,” is how the new merch is described on the official Ferrari Store website, through which the items can be ordered.
