It was none other than the Dutch champion, Max Verstappen, who, in an interview with Racing News 365, praised the talented Argentine driver. Here’s what Max had to say:“Answering is tricky because he’s still under contract with Williams. He’s doing a great job, and I think even Williams is questioning what to do next. . From what he’s shown so far, yes: he deserves a seat on the grid. But at the moment, it’s not easy to find one. .

Personally, I think his situation shows how teams, in general, should be more open to young drivers and trust them. Now, there’s this situation where he’s a junior driver for Williams and potentially has to leave the team or try his luck elsewhere, when they could have put him in the car.”

Lewis Hamilton shared a similar view. During the press conference ahead of the Brazilian Grand Prix, he spoke about Franco Colapinto in this way: “I think he has earned the right to be here,” said the seven-time world champion, commenting on the young Argentine driver’s prospects. “There’s still a seat available, and he says it doesn’t depend on him. My advice is: make sure it becomes yours. Push, do everything you can to secure that position.

He’s done an incredible job, considering he was called up at the last minute and thrown straight into the deep end of this sport. Most of us, when we enter Formula 1, have some sort of preparation. Look at young Kimi Antonelli, for example: he will have over 20 days of testing before his first race, which is a rare opportunity. But he didn’t have all that. He suddenly found himself thrown onto the track and did an extraordinary job.

It’s always nice to see young talent emerge and shine. He already proved it in his first race: we had a little battle on track, and he was super confident, tough but fair. He really showed he deserves his place.”
