On the eve of the Las Vegas Grand Prix, the announcement comes of the extension of the partnership between the Williams team and Duracell in an agreement lasting at least until the next season.
The Grove-based team approaches the third-to-last race of this Formula 1 season sitting in ninth place in the Constructors’ Championship with 17 points, most of which were earned in the second half of the season, thanks in part to the contribution of Argentine driver Franco Colapinto, who replaced Logan Sargeant starting from the Italian Grand Prix in September.
Additionally, after speculation (later denied) about Williams’ absence from Las Vegas due to damage sustained on both Grove cars during the weekend in Interlagos, ahead of the Las Vegas Grand Prix – which kicks off this weekend – the team led by James Vowles has announced the extension of its partnership with Duracell, one of the first global companies to join the team during its relaunch in 2022, until next year “and beyond.”
To celebrate the renewal of the partnership between the British team and the American giant, Alex Albon and Franco Colapinto’s FW46 cars will showcase a transformation to the DRS flaps, which will feature the iconic copper color associated with Duracell’s batteries.
This initiative follows the long-standing presence on Williams’ cars of the iconic copper and black battery incorporated into the airbox, which will continue to be a distinctive feature on the next FW46, to be driven by Alex Albon and Carlos Sainz during the upcoming season. Additionally, as announced by the team, “the unmistakable Duracell logo and colors will remain on the drivers’ helmet visors, while the team’s devices will benefit from Duracell’s exclusive ‘Power Boost Ingredients.'”
“Williams is proud to have Duracell supporting our resurgence through 2025 and beyond, as we continue to build lasting relationships with leading brands that share our vision and values. The partnership has brought memorable moments and iconic branding, which has become a fan favorite on our cars, and we can’t wait to write the next chapter as we continue to build momentum ,” said James Bower, Commercial Director of Williams Racing.
Ramón Velutini, Global Marketing Director of Duracell, added: “We are excited to extend our partnership with Williams Racing as we continue to support their journey back to the top of the grid. Our shared passion for performance and relentless pursuit of improvement makes Williams Racing a perfect partner for Duracell. Both Williams Racing and Duracell are ‘Built Different,’ embodying the belief that ‘good enough’ is never enough. I am particularly excited that our exclusive ‘Power Boost Ingredients™’ will power their devices, both on and off the track “.
