LEGO x Formula 1: the first sets of F1 cars and the SF-24 Technic unveiled

During the ongoing Las Vegas Grand Prix this weekend, the first LEGO x Formula 1 sets were unveiled, which will be available from early 2025.

“Each set is rich in intricate details, allowing fans of all ages to bring their imagination to life and immerse themselves in the world of Formula 1 from the comfort of their home.” This is the mission of the partnership between Formula 1 and LEGO, which has now created an imaginary world that goes far beyond the construction of real-world objects in miniature. LEGO manages to unite people of all ages, from adults to children, proving to be a great way to spend time with those who matter most.

This is not the first time the famous brick company has entered the world of Formula 1: it already happened during the Italian Grand Prix last September, when the ACI Milano Club House featured a LEGO-built McLaren MP4-4 driven by Ayrton Senna. The same model was later released for sale, along with a minifigure of the Brazilian driver. Additionally, last year saw the release of a replica of Mercedes’ W14, as well as a miniature version of the MCL60 from the Woking-based team.

Now, in conjunction with the Las Vegas Grand Prix and following the announcement of the Formula 1 and LEGO partnership a few months ago, the two parties have unveiled their new collections related to the world of motorsport. The sets will include LEGO DUPLO, LEGO CITY, LEGO Speed Champions, and LEGO Collectibles for builders. The cost of the SF-24 from Maranello, in LEGO Technic, will be €229.99, while the LEGO Speed Champions sets of various teams will be priced around €26.99.

On the official LEGO store website, an early preview of the sets that will be available from 2025 is already available, and fans can even pre-order them to be among the first to receive the products. In addition to the sets featuring F1 cars from the past season, the Williams FW14B with a Nigel Mansell minifigure will also be available for pre-order.

As part of the partnership, the LEGO Group will also bring exciting initiatives such as “Build the Thrill” both on and off track, bringing fans even closer to the excitement and drama of Formula 1. With this goal in mind, fans will also be able to build the LEGO DUPLO Town F1 Team Race Cars & Drivers set, which will include everything needed for a Grand Prix weekend, such as 10 buildable race cars, three LEGO DUPLO brick drivers, a starting grid, and a podium.

Additionally, there will be the LEGO City F1 range, consisting of six different sets, allowing fans to recreate the perfect Grand Prix weekend by building the Formula 1 Paddock, from the transport trucks to the team garages, and experience race scenarios, including high-pressure pit stops and the moment of “lights out.”

Julia Goldin, Chief Product & Marketing Officer of the LEGO Group, added: “This range of products combine the drama of Formula 1 with the creativity, fun and endless opportunities of the LEGO brick.
