The announcements continue regarding the drivers who will make up the 2025 F1 Academy grid. In the past week, Courtney Crone and Alba Hurup Larsen have been confirmed as part of the line-up.
During the week of the Las Vegas Grand Prix for Formula 1, the venue where next season’s Academy will conclude, the F1 Academy 2025 grid is starting to take shape: after the confirmation of Chloe Chambers for her second and final season in Formula 1 supported by the Academy Red Bull Ford, the announcement of Rafaela Ferreira, who will race with Racing Bulls, and finally, Ella Lloyd with Papaya, two more drivers have been announced to join the category managed by Susie Wolff for next year: Courtney Crone and Alba Hurup Larsen.
For the American driver, currently competing in the North American Lamborghini Super Trofeo Championship, next year’s F1 Academy experience won’t be entirely new. Courtney Crone had already participated in the Miami event as a wild card. In 2025, she will also be supported by the American team Haas F1 Team, taking over from Chloe Chambers, who is currently racing under the team led by Ayao Komatsu.
“I’m truly honored to join the MoneyGram Haas F1 Team for the 2025 F1 ACADEMY season. Representing the American F1 team is a dream come true, and I am incredibly grateful for this opportunity,” said Crone. “Since I competed with F1 ACADEMY at the Miami Grand Prix as a Wild Card, it’s been my goal to race full-time in the series. That experience gave me a taste of the challenge and dedication it will take to become a championship contender. Maximizing this incredible opportunity is my number one priority, and together with MoneyGram Haas F1 Team, I believe I have the best chance for success ” she concluded, recalling the Florida event and thanking the team for their support.
Not just Crone, but also Alba Hurup Larsen joining the category next year with Tommy Hilfiger
In recent days, the announcement was also made regarding the entry of Alba Hurup Larsen, a young 16-year-old driver, who will represent the iconic Tommy Hilfiger brand, wearing the brand’s red, white, and blue colors on her suit and car livery during the 2025 F1 Academy season. Hurup Larsen is also the winner of the 2023 FIA Girls on Track Rising Stars program – an initiative promoted by the FIA Women in Motorsport Commission in collaboration with the Ferrari Driver Academy and Iron Dames – and has already made her single-seater debut in the Indian F4 Championship this year.
“I’m deeply honored that Tommy has entrusted me to fly his flag in F1 ACADEMY. Having this support at such a pivotal stage in my career means everything to me. I’m excited to represent the Tommy Hilfiger brand as we dream big, show what’s possible, and drive change ,” said Hurup Larsen, the third winner of the FIA Girls on Track Rising Stars program, after Maya Weug and Aurelia Nobels, both part of the current F1A grid.
The iconic designer also emphasized the importance of the collaboration with the F1 Academy, stating that next year, Tommy Hilfiger will also dress the management team of the category led by Susie Wolff: “This partnership underscores our commitment to innovation and inclusivity in motorsport. With F1 ACADEMY, we’re breaking barriers and paving the way for a more inclusive and dynamic future in racing. Supporting young talents like Alba Hurup Larsen motivates us to challenge limits and redefine possibilities within our sport “.
