Max Verstappen, thanks to the fifth place he achieved in the Las Vegas race, has mathematically secured his fourth consecutive World Championship title.
Four-time Max Verstappen. The Dutch Red Bull driver, with his fifth-place finish in the crazy Las Vegas race, has been crowned World Champion for the fourth consecutive time, achieving an incredible milestone. Super Max now joins the exclusive group of a few elite drivers who have won four consecutive titles.
Like him, only Lewis Hamilton, Fangio, Vettel, and Schumacher (who won five consecutive titles; four titles like Prost for Verstappen) have managed to achieve such a feat, pushing the limits of a car that, after the summer break, was certainly not the best on the grid.
The Dutchman, interviewed after the race, made the following statements: “It’s been a long season. The start was fantastic, of course, we were in control of every race, but then came the tough period. We stayed united, the team continued to work hard to improve the car, and in the end, we reached the goal. We should be proud of all the work they’ve done for me. I never thought I’d be a four-time World Champion. It seemed like an impossible goal when I started, at seventeen
I was just happy to be there, dreaming of wins, or stepping onto the podium—normal things, already very difficult to achieve. Then this journey began, after difficult years of trying, and then with the new regulations, we got a boost that led us to the fourth World Championship title, it’s incredible.”
Max then added: “This season has been very demanding, even on a personal level. At certain times, I had to stay calm. I prefer a season like last year, I had so much fun, but this one taught me many lessons. I’m very proud of how the team handled everything. For many months, this season has also been special and beautiful; I thank all the fans for their support. Last year we spoiled them a bit, but this year they had to wait. However, I’ve always felt their support.
The team and I have been through a lot together, and it’s special to reach these milestones with this group of people. They work hard to give me a car that allows me to fight and win the title. I’m still hungry; we’ll finish this season at our best, and next year we’ll be back fighting.”
