Charles Leclerc, disappointed after finishing fourth in the Las Vegas Grand Prix, gave an interview discussing Max Verstappen.
Rivals since their karting days, Charles Leclerc and Max Verstappen have often crossed paths in their sporting careers, with the Monegasque and the Dutch driver frequently engaged in fierce battles. The balance clearly tilts in favor of Max, who already has four World Championships in his trophy cabinet, while Charles is still without a title.
Age is on both drivers’ side, and the strength of the Ferrari and Red Bull projects will be crucial for a potential World Championship battle in 2025. All the ingredients are there to replicate, throughout an entire season, what we witnessed in the first part of the 2022 championship.
In an interview with Viaplay, Charles Leclerc spoke about Verstappen, praising his consistency this season. The Monegasque had this to say: “Max has demonstrated his quality in every category he’s raced in. He has always been highly competitive, and what he’s doing in Formula 1 is a confirmation of that.”
Charles then added: “He has been the most consistent and fully deserves the title. This pushes me to give my best for next year, especially now that we have a car that’s closer to the top teams. He gives nothing away, always strives to get the most out of the car. Every lap is a battle, and you can never let your guard down. But I like this challenge, especially because racing against him has always been exciting.”
