Russell’s New Helmet in Qatar: Mercedes Turns White!

A return to the past for Mercedes: the Brackley team brings white back to its garage

It was 2020 when the Black Lives Matter movement prompted Mercedes to adopt an all-black livery as a show of solidarity after the death of George Floyd. Since then, the Brackley squad had not worn white, a color that had been a staple of their race suits for years.

Until the 2024 Qatar Grand Prix: now Hamilton and Russell’s team has returned to its “old” colors, and to mark the occasion, driver #63 unveiled a new themed helmet.

“White helmet, white suit”: this is how the team introduced George Russell’s all-white helmet, which will match his outfit entirely at the Losail International Circuit.

Now, it’s time for the sole practice session of the Qatar Grand Prix in less than an hour: just 60 minutes to gather all the necessary data and prepare for the Sprint weekend, following the Briton’s victory last weekend in Las Vegas.
