by Stefano Zambroni

A surprise announcement ahead of the Sprint Races (F1 and F2) at the Qatar Grand Prix: Aron joins Alpine

First place in free practice, pole position yesterday, and a major career announcement today—it’s shaping up to be a dream weekend for Paul Aron. Currently sitting 4th in the Formula 2 Drivers’ Championship, the Estonian driver, who has been having an impressive season in the junior category, has officially been named Alpine’s new Reserve Driver. This move also positions him well for 2026, where, in the event of a potential underperformance by Jack Doohan, Aron could make his debut in Formula 1.
