F1 Academy Race 2 in Qatar, Final Race of the Weekend Called Off

After a delay in the session, the cancellation of Race 2 of the F1 Academy in Qatar this morning was confirmed. The Constructors’ Title will be decided in Abu Dhabi.

Race 1 has been completed under the lights and dunes of the Qatari desert, where Abbi Pulling was crowned the successor to Marta García as the reigning Champion. The second race of the weekend for the F1 Academy was supposed to take place in entirely different conditions, under the sun and wind of the Lusail circuit.

However, the schedules were not adhered to, and the last session of the penultimate event in the category – after a prolonged delay of 30 minutes, similar to what had happened the previous day during the F1 Academy qualifying session – was cancelled. The reason that led the race direction to make this decision was the need to replace a damaged track barrier during the Porsche Carrera Cup Middle East session, which preceded the F1 Academy women’s session. Unfortunately, the work was not completed in time to allow the race to take place.

Race 2 of the F1 Academy in Qatar Cancelled.

With Race 2 of the F1 Academy in Qatar now cancelled, attention turns to the final F1 Academy weekend from December 6-8 at Yas Marina Circuit, where the Constructors’ Championship will also be decided. PREMA Racing currently leads, followed by Rodin Motorsport, Abbi Pulling’s team, which is just 26 points behind.
